The crane is on site and it's time to start setting the precast for the Downtown Burlington Parking Deck!

The City of Burlington's downtown redevelopment efforts continue to progress. With a new 200 stall parking structure scheduled for completion in January 2011 and the opening of a new Hampton Inn in Spring 2011, Burlington continues to be a growing and vibrant community!

The Peter Scherrer Group and Cooperative Plus Inc are working together to explore the opportunities for Senior Housing Development in Union Grove, WI. Local announcements and a public meeting held on October 26th have generated a great deal of feedback from the local community. Lavelle Industries, a longstanding Burlington company, is reinvesting in their building with facade repairs and remodel. The Peter Scherrer Group is proudly serving as General Contractor to the project.

This new hotel (see picture below) is one of multiple projects included in the City of Burlington's downtown redevelopment.

Peter Scherrer and Leslie Scherrer attended this event. Topics of discussion included local zoning regulations, pending development activity and the current and anticipated impact on our lakes and shorelands. The event was held on the shore of Geneva Lake and it was a beautiful day to enjoy the the lakefront!

While attending the AGC of Wisconsin Summer Meeting this past July, Peter Scherrer had the opportunity to meet Ron Johnson, candidate for the U.S. Senate, and hear Ron's vision and goals. An Oshkosh based manufacturer, Ron's focus include job creation and fiscal restraint. The annual AGC event was held at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

Leslie Scherrer was sworn in as a member of the Gateway Technical College Board of Trustees today. She is excited to be a part of this innovative institution serving Walworth, Racine and Kenosha Counties and looks forward to contributing to Gateway's continued success. www.gtc.edu/page.asp

Great activity on Hwy 36 in Burlington! M&I bank has begun construction on their new branch office. The site for the new building is an outlot that was sold to M&I by The Peter Scherrer Group last fall. It is located in front of the new Kohl's Department Store and Pick 'n Save. The parcel adjacent to the new M&I Bank is owned by the Peter Scherrer Group and once preleasing is completed, a 20,000 sf retail building will be built.

Peter Scherrer was honored to be asked to judge the UW Whitewater Warhawk CEO Contest for the third year in a row. Peter is an alumni and proud supporter of the UW Whitewater School of Business. He and other local business executives reviewed serveral business plans prepared by UWW business students to select the winner. The business plans are judged based on viability, originality, market potential, social impact, completeness, mechanics, and attractiveness to investors. Tyler Sailsbery, a senior from Waupaca WI won the contest. Read more about the contest.
